More!! Cookies!! Please!!
Once upon a time, many moons ago, I was part of a Girl Scout troop. During this stint, you could say I got pretty familiar with their cookie selection. Even after I retired my sash and became a theater kid, I’d still buy cookies from local Girl Scouts to get my fix. Now that I’ve established my credibility, I think it’s only fair I share with you my personal cookie ranking. Let’s see if you agree.
12. Lemon-Ups
They took away Thanks-A-Lots, but gave us another lemon cookie? Nah, I want justice for my Thanks-A-Lots. Though I do like lemon-flavored things, I don’t feel like it’s really necessary to have two lemony cookies in this limited assortment of options. You know what I mean? It’s just “blah” for me. These are only available in select areas, and I’m not sure anyone really cares? We already have Lemonades, and those aren’t bad, so that’s enough lemon for me, thanks.
11. Lemonades
See, we’ve got more lemon right here! Don’t get me wrong, I do really like these cookies. In my opinion, there are no bad Girl Scout cookies. These just don’t get me that excited. Lemon is a fine flavor, but it isn’t my first choice for a cookie. I like my cookies a little richer!
10. Shortbread
You may also know these cookies as Trefoils! Simple, yet effective. Sometimes, you gotta get back to the basics. These cookies are a great balance of buttery and light. They pair well with a nice cup of tea. Though they aren’t the most exciting cookie on the list, they still make for a nice lil’ snack.
9. Caramel Chocolate Chip
We love to see a gluten-free option! Obviously, I enjoy chocolate chips and caramel, so I’m already on board. My one grievance is that since I’m such a chocolate chip cookie snob, nothing will ever compare to a warm, fresh-baked cookie for me. No other chocolate chip cookies hold a candle to the ones fresh out of the oven. That’s all I have to say about that.
8. Toast-Yay!
It’s giving Cinnamon Toast Crunch vibes. Hey, no complaints here! I love a nice batch of french toast, so I’m all for a cookie that replicates that magic. Sugar, spice, and everything nice! Plus, who doesn’t love a little icing???
7. Peanut Butter Sandwich
Also known as Do-si-dos, these little sandwich cookies are hard to put down! I’m a big fan of peanut butter in my desserts, so of course a peanut butter cookie hits the spot. I also like the oatmeal flavor and texture of these cookies. I would whine and complain that it’s missing chocolate, but don’t worry, there’s another cookie that takes care of my peanut butter + chocolate fix.
6. Adventurefuls
These cookies are brand-new and haven’t even technically debuted yet, so I actually haven’t tried one. THAT BEING SAID, based on appearance and description alone, they are going to be FIRE 🔥. Anything that combines brownies and caramel can’t be bad — it’s simply impossible. I have no doubt in my mind that these will be good, but it’s hard to say just how good in comparison to their cookie counterparts. So, I decided that a nice middle spot on this list felt fair. They look like they could be my new #1 one day, but for now, I can only dream (and speculate).
5. Girl Scout S’mores
I LOVE anything s’mores flavored or s’mores adjacent. Chocolate + marshmallow is a match made in dessert heaven. Plus, s’mores give me a sense of nostalgia. They remind me of sitting around a campfire on a chilly autumn night. Who doesn’t love that?
4. Caramel deLites
Also known as Samoas, these cookies are the definition of delicious! I really, reallyyy love coconut, so of course I’m happy to see it paired with some of my other favorite ingredients (chocolate and caramel). I want to bite into one of these right now. The caramel makes it just a littleee chewy, while the cookie at the center remains crunchy 🤤.
3. Toffee-tastic
I 👏 love 👏 toffee 👏. I am suchhh a sucker for a toffee candy bar or a toffee cookie. I can’t help but feel like toffee is weirdly underrated? It just doesn’t seem to have the fan club it truly deserves. It’s so delicious and such a textural experience. If you’re not a toffee stan, you are missing out.
2. Peanut Butter Patties
Also called Tagalongs, these cookies are top-tier tasty. You knew this was coming. I already told you how I feel about chocolate and peanut butter together. Spoiler alert if you didn’t actually read my caption — it’s the PERFECT combination! It’s like a Reese’s, but also a cookie. It’s a work of art. I could eat a dozen of these in one sitting, and TBH, I probably have.
1. Thin Mints
We’ve made it, folks, to the ultimate cookie! Are you even surprised? I don’t want to hear anyone say, “Thin Mints aren’t even that good,” or “Thin Mints are trash.” YOU are trash! Thin Mints absolutely rock my world. They are a brilliant cookie, and they deserve allllll the hype. I’ve always kept my box in the freezer, and that makes the experience even more immaculate. Love. 💚
So, do you agree or disagree with my ranking? What cookie do you think deserves the #1 spot? Tell me all your cookie opinions in the comments below! And check out all the cookies for yourself on the Girl Scouts website!
