16 Times Celebrities Called Out Social Media Trolls And Made Me Say, “Hell Yeah, Take That”

1. Jameela Jamil

In 2019, the actor tweeted a picture of herself, and some loser wrote, “Why would you leave the house looking that hideous?” Jameela responded, “Because I have no desire nor responsibility to turn you on.”

2. Florence Pugh

A few months ago, the actor wore a stunning sheer dress to a fashion show, and countless body-shaming comments rolled in. Florence responded on Instagram, writing, “What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see. You even do it with your job titles and work emails in your bio…?”

“Thankfully, I’ve come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I’m happy with all of the ‘flaws’ that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14. So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny tits,’ or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested.’ I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.”

3. Simu Liu

In an Instagram story last year, the actor showed a bunch of YouTube videos that predicted Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings would be a “flop.” As we all know, the film ended up being a total success. Simu simply wrote, “LOL” across the videos that doubted him.

He also tweeted an image back from his stock photo modeling days, writing, “Me laughing at the people who thought we’d flop.”

4. Katharine McPhee

On her husband’s live concert album, An Intimate Evening with David Foster, Katharine sang a cover of “To Love You More” — originally written by her hubby for Céline Dion. A hater on Twitter wrote, “Dear @katharinemcphee don’t EVER sing ‘to love you more’!!! The fact that @officialdfoster would let you butcher that song — a classic at that, WOW!”

Katharine responded with a clip of herself singing beautifully. “I’d like to see you try this, bitch,” she wrote.

6. Ashley Graham

In 2016, the model made an Instagram post calling out someone who’d called her thighs “cellulite city.” She wrote, “I now realize these thighs tell a story of victory and courage. 7. Shay Mitchell

In 2019, the actor posted a pic on Instagram of herself dolled up while holding her baby, who was breastfeeding. Someone commented, “I’m a fan of her, but this picture just says but she’s an attention getter. She’s not even looking at the baby, she’s not connected with the baby, she’s connected with the camera.”

Shay responded, “I missed the part in the baby books that stated I had to maintain eye contact with my daughter while she feeds rather than capturing an amazing moment we were having. Pls let me know where I can download your parenting manual, I’ll get right on it!”

8. Zendaya

In 2015, a hater called the actor “ugly” on Twitter. She responded with a stunning picture of herself, writing, “I know, right?”

11. Eva Mendes

Last year, a fan asked the actor why she wasn’t posting as much on Instagram. Though Eva replied that she was prioritizing time with her family over social media, some loser commented, “She’s had work done, and I don’t think she’s happy with it. She was beautiful without.”

After the tennis star shared a picture of herself in a bathing suit on Instagram, she faced of wave of negative comments. On Twitter, she wrote, “I just wanna say it’s creeping me out how many people are commenting @ me to maintain my ‘innocent image’ and ‘don’t try to be someone you’re not.’ … Why do you feel like you can comment on what I can wear?”

I just wanna say it’s creeping me out how many people are commenting @ me to maintain my “innocent image” and “don’t try to be someone your not”. You don’t know me, I’m 22, I wear swimsuits to the pool. Why do you feel like you can comment on what I can wear?

13. Selena Gomez

Throughout 2015, the singer dealt with constant body-shaming. On one of her Instagram posts, a commenter wrote, “You need to work out! Please stop eating junk food.” In a second comment, they continued, “She’s an actress; she needs to tone her body. In the business, sadly, the image — it’s important.”

Selena replied, “You’re disgusting. I’m IN the business, and I could care less about what ‘they’ or you say I should look like. I don’t need to do anything other than love myself, [and] take care of my work, fans, family, and friends.”

14. Lil Nas X

After an incredible performance of “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” on SNL, someone on Twitter wrote, “He already sold his soul to the devil…I can’t believe people actually listen to this devil worshipper.” Lil Nas X simply responded, “Who cares? I look hot.”

15. Chrissy Teigen

After the cookbook writer shared a pic on Instagram in 2018, someone commented, “You look beautiful, but you should grow your hair long again. Girls with round faces should not have short hair like that. It makes your face look huge.” Chrissy sarcastically replied, “Honestly wow thank you because when I wake up each morning, I wonder what [the commenter] would do, and then I try to make her happy so this was a huge mistake on my part.”

16. And finally, Anna Kendrick

When the actor posted a behind-the-scenes pic of herself in a spacesuit from the sci-fi thriller Stowaway, an Instagram user commented, “Not the most flattering outfit.” Anna responded, “Yeah but I could still fuck your girl tho 💋.”
